Logging Contributions & Receipts

How to record payments, grocery restocks, and non-cash help.

Kouchd believes that genuine household support takes many forms. You shouldn’t have to feel like an unpaid tenant or an unappreciated guest.

Types of Contributions

You can log 5 categories of contributions in Kouchd:

1. Direct Cash Payment: Money sent via Zelle, Venmo, Cash App, PayPal, or physical cash.
2. Groceries & Food: Shared fridge items, milk, coffee, produce, and family dinners.
3. Household Supplies: Paper towels, toilet paper, detergent, light bulbs, or cleaning products.
4. House Work & Labor: Mutual agreements for manual tasks (e.g. deep cleaning, painting, dog sitting).
5. Other: Any custom agreed-upon value.

How to Submit an Entry

1. In the Contribute screen, tap + Log Contribution.
2. Select the category, enter the dollar value, date, and a short note describing the item or payment.
3. Tap Submit for Review.
4. Once your host taps Confirm, the amount is credited directly against your upcoming stay obligation!
